It is currently 10:14 AM (Friday) in Paris, which means that it's about 4:14 AM in western New York (and all of EST). So... I'm pretty tired. Forgive me if none of this is too interesting or makes any sense. I'm trying to trudge through though until I can sleep later so I can minimize the jetlag. My train doesn't leave until tomorrow at 8:35 AM, so I have a lot of time to kill! Seriously, if any of you are reading this, please send some messages and some love today because I will be bored out of my mind.
My flight was pretty uneventful, except that they served us TWO meals! Since it was a 6:35 PM --> 7:45 AM flight transversing several time zones, I didn't know if they would feed us... but they did! I had some pasta with lobster sauce for dinner, and they gave us a strawberry-lemon cake as part (yeah we had multiple) of dessert! My stomach was quite happy. I sat next to this guy, Mike, who is around my brother's age, and he was on his way to visit his friends in Amsterdam. I actually spent most of the flight ignoring everything around me in my attempts to get some sleep (which didn't work out at all because I got about an hour's worth). At one point, I think I fell asleep--I was so excited that I actually managed to get some snooze, only to find that I really only slept for about 20 minutes. Since nothing terribly exciting happened on the flight, I've included some pictures of me goofing off before take-off.
All decked out in my travel gear
Mini TV screens for all of us!
At this point, I should probably mention what I actually want to do with this blog. I hope to post something every Monday and Thursday, and some select weekends. I'm setting these deadlines more for myself so that I actually regularly document what I'm doing, and hopefully for some of you, it'll be something to look forward to after the "ugh Monday" slumps!
Anyway, I also wanted to give a special thank you to my parents, who are the most amazing people ever. Like seriously--they have been so supportive throughout this whole thing by helping me get plane tickets, paying (!!!) for the majority of the trip, driving me to the airport, helping me pack, amongst other very important things. I'm so so so lucky to have them. Thanks, Mom and Dad! Merci! 谢谢!
I love them so much :)
